Stris & Maher recognized for bet-the-company trial victory

Stris & Maher partners earned Litigator of the Week runners-up recognition for their bet-the-company trial victory on behalf of Rhodium Enterprises, Inc.

“A trial team led by John Stokes of Stris & Maher got a significant win for bitcoin mining company Rhodium Enterprises Inc. in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas. After a week-long trial, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Alfredo Pérez in Houston found this week that Rhodium’s initial agreements with its landlord and power supplier Whinstone had not been superseded by subsequent agreements or terminated by defaults. Whinstone, which was purchased by Rhodium competitor Riot Blockchain Inc., has sought to shut off Rhodium’s power and site access. The trial team also included Bridget Asay of Stris & Maher, and Will Thompson and Todd Disher of Lehotsky Keller Cohn.”
