We’re proud to share that our managing partner Elizabeth Brannen has been named to World IP Review’s 2026 list of Influential Women in IP.

WIPR’s annual recognition honors women whose expertise, leadership, and accomplishments are shaping the future of intellectual property around the world.

Liz is recognized for her leadership of the firm’s intellectual property practice and her work representing clients in complex commercial disputes. As managing partner, she has also helped chart the firm’s continued growth while maintaining its commitment to excellence in high-stakes litigation.

Congratulations, Liz, on this well-deserved honor.

In WIPR’s words:

“Elizabeth Brannen leads the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice at Stris & Maher, a boutique in the US known for handling sophisticated, precedent-setting disputes.

She maintains an active trial and appellate practice in high-stakes IP and complex commercial litigation.

Among her significant litigation successes for global technology clients include high-value victories in patent disputes in US federal courts.

In 2024, she secured summary judgment in the Western District of Texas resolving patent claims in favour of her client in a complex technical dispute, followed by another favourable resolution in 2025 in the Southern District of Texas Bankruptcy Court.

Her practice spans patent, copyright, trademark (Lanham Act), and trade secret litigation.

She has played a substantive role in matters before the US Supreme Court, including Fourth Estate v Wall-Street.com (2019) and Unicolors v H&M (2022), and has also secured major trial successes including defeating a $180 million false advertising claim.

Brannen regularly speaks on litigation strategy and developments affecting technology and innovation.

She serves as co-chair of the Women in IP Committee of the Los Angeles Intellectual Property Law Association (LAIPLA), where she leads initiatives supporting mentorship and professional development for women in IP law.

She is also a master member of the Judge Paul R. Michel Intellectual Property American Inn of Court, contributing to programmes on ethics, professionalism, and advocacy.
