Bard Center for Civic Engagement (Bard CCE) has recognized Mike Donofrio, alongside colleagues Yael Bromberg and Doug Mishkin, for “their tireless efforts to ensure student voting rights.” The Annual Community Partner Celebration was held on Friday, September 30 at Blithewood, a turn-of-the-century mansion overlooking the Hudson River on the campus of Bard College.

Mike successfully represented Bard College before New York trial and appellate courts in Bard College v. Duchess County Board of Elections, an impact case about accessibility and safety in voting. This high-profile litigation ensured that Bard would host a polling site for the 2021 general election and all 2022 elections, and helped spur the New York legislature to pass a law requiring on-campus voting sites at colleges with 300 or more students.
