Firm efforts in Whittier Law School case makes front page of Daily Journal

This morning’s edition of the Daily Journal led with a front page story detailing Stris & Maher’s involvement in a recent case concerning Whittier Law School. Whittier College officials, to the shock of students, alumni, and faculty, recently announced their intention to shut down the law school. Whittier would be the nation’s first fully accredited law school to close in three decades.

“It was very heartbreaking,” said Hanna Chandoo, an alumna of the law school and attorney at Stris & Maher who was quoted in the article. “Students are outraged. I’ve heard from a few this morning that they couldn’t sleep. They have finals in the next two weeks. This really couldn’t have come at a worse time. This is going to affect their ability to keep their head in the game.”

After learning of the impending closure, tenured law faculty moved quickly to retain Stris & Maher, who filed a temporary restraining order just three days ago.
