A recent article in the Daily Journal reports on Radha Pathak‘s U.S. Supreme Court victory in Montanile v. The Board of Trustees of the National Elevator Industry Health Benefit Plan, an important case affecting the rights of participants and beneficiaries of employer-sponsored benefit plans. The article notes:
A Whittier Law School professor recently scored an 8-1 victory before the U.S. Supreme Court in a pro-bono case that could have sweeping effects on lawsuits filed under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.
Radha Pathak, of counsel at Stris & Maher LLP, served as lead pro bono counsel, and as a tenured professor her involvement in a case before the high court is a rarity.
Ms. Pathak served as Counsel of Record and led a team of firm lawyers in briefing the case. Peter Stris argued the case.
