Jacqueline (“Jacque”) Sahlberg specializes in complex and high-stakes matters, including trial and appellate litigation, state and federal government investigations, and civil rights cases. She has a track record of achieving successful outcomes for clients through creative and compelling advocacy.
Jacque is a skilled litigator with broad experience, representing individuals, businesses, nonprofits, and governments in complex trial and appellate litigation. She has achieved favorable outcomes for clients at all stages of litigation, from pre-suit investigation through Supreme Court appeals.
Prior to joining the firm, Jacque was an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Idaho. She built out the District’s civil rights program, which focused on protecting the civil and constitutional rights of persons through criminal prosecution, civil enforcement, and community outreach. She also served on the District’s appellate committee, arguing before the Ninth Circuit. Jacque was previously an associate in the D.C. Office of Kaplan Hecker & Fink, where she specialized in complex civil litigation, appeals, emergency motions and briefs, government investigations, and internal investigations.
Jacque served as a law clerk to the Honorable David J. Barron on the First Circuit and the Honorable James E. Boasberg in the District of Columbia.
Jacque received her law degree from Harvard Law School in 2019, where she graduated magna cum laude and won the Ames Moot Court competition. She received her undergraduate degree in American Studies from Yale University.
