Four Motions to be Heard on September 7, 2018 in Bechard v. Broidy, Davidson, and Avenatti
06/24/20 Update: The appeals of Mr. Avenatti (whose anti-SLAPP motion was denied) and Mr. Broidy (whose motion to compel arbitration was denied) have now failed. The case will now proceed to trial in state court, where we will continue to represent Ms. Bechard. (Opinion | Press).
09/07/18 Update: On September 7, 2018, the court issued an order addressing the below motions (Order). The links below have been revised with unredacted versions of the parties’ papers.
09/10/18 Update: Within hours after the trial court issued its order, Defendant Elliott Broidy filed an emergency petition seeking a temporary stay to avoid the release of unredacted versions of the parties’ motion papers (Petition). On Monday, September 10, 2018, the California Court of Appeals denied the petition (Order).

On September 7, 2018, the Los Angeles Superior Court will hear four motions in Bechard v. Broidy, Davidson, and Avenatti, No. BC712913 (Order Resetting Motions). Stris & Maher represents Plaintiff Shera Bechard in this action. The hearing will take place at 8:30 a.m. in Department 48, Stanley Mosk Courthouse, 111 North Hill Street, Los Angeles, California 90012.
